Head Start Mission Statement: We help kids discover who they are and what’s important to them so they can communicate with compassion and confidence!
Overview of Head Start Public Speaking for Kids
In 2011 Paula Howley was an up and coming public speaker when a friend asked if she would conduct a youth speaking workshop for a Girl Guide troop. Paula, a former gymnastics coach, absolutely loved the experience of helping kids come into their own and continued to give workshops. After a particularly successful workshop, parents convinced Paula to turn her talents into a business. Seeing that there was very little landscape in kids’ public speaking, she started Head Start Public Speaking For Kids in 2013.
Since then, she has been observing what works best in the classroom, constantly improving curriculum and has turned Head Start Public Speaking For Kids into a successful award-winning business which has literally changed lives. Real kids have experienced real differences in their lives and that’s what it’s all about.
Does coaching kids into confidence sound exciting to you?
There are few things as exciting as watching a kid step into their confidence. And few things as rewarding as knowing you helped them do it! We’ve seen kids too afraid to speak at the first class work the program and end up MCing Presentation Night! It’s truly incredible.
And kids have a lot to say. Working with them is fun, satisfying and let’s face it – highly entertaining!
There are many people who are jazzed by the prospect of working with kids to help them be the very best version of themselves. Former and current teachers, people in the self-improvement field, sports and music coaches, parents and many others.
A background in public speaking is not essential, but a love of kids and an interest in personal development is!
